Leg Thread Vein Removal
What is Leg Thread Vein Removal?
Thread veins are small red/purple veins which are commonly seen on either the face or legs. At Cosmetic Courses we offer a treatment for these visible veins called microsclerotherapy. The treatment we offer is specifically for the veins found on the legs rather than the face. It is a simple and fairly quick procedure which uses the injection of a product called Sclerovein into the visible veins. This solution effectively causes the walls of the vein to stick together reducing the blood flow through the vein. Over time this causes the vein to be less pronounced.
The Treatment
Leg Thread Vein Removal Treatment works by injecting Fibrovein into the area needing treatment. The injection works by irritating the inner wall of the veins and causing them to become inflamed, resulting in the vein walls sticking together and the veins disappearing.
Frequently Asked Questions
Which type of veins does the treatment treat?
This procedure only treats surface thread veins; it does not treat varicose veins. Before the procedure you will need to send in a photo to be approved by the trainer for the procedure.
How long does the treatment take?
The procedure usually takes around 30 minutes.
Can the treated veins reoccur?
If you have many veins that need treating or the treatment area is quite large, you may need more than one treatment. Some veins may require repeat treatments for optimum results, however the procedure is usually very successful. Regular exercise and staying healthy should help maintain the results of the treatment.
What preparation do I need to do before the treatment?
Not a lot of preparation is required before the treatment. We do advise that you avoid shaving your legs for 24 hours before the treatment, and do not moisturize your legs on the day of the appointment. You will need compression stockings for after your treatment, we recommend buying these from either boots or M&S and they must be grade 3.
What can I expect after the treatment?
They treatment is likely to cause bruising, however after 2 weeks this should calm down. We recommend allowing two weeks after any treatment before going on holiday or any special occasion. There may be slight swelling or redness about the area of treatment, walking will help ease this, however strenuous activity should be avoided for the first couple of days, and long periods of standing should be avoided when not wearing the compression stockings.
How do I book an appointment?
