Cosmetic Courses at CCR 2021

It was a pleasure to once again be exhibiting at CCR 2021 on October 14th & 15th along with our Medical Director Mr Adrian Richards taking to the stage to discuss key industry topics.
What is CCR?

CCR is the UK’s leading conference and exhibition for the surgical and non-surgical medical aesthetic communities. At the heart of CCR’s ethos is ‘raising industry standards’ and as such CCR brings together the world’s leading practitioners to share and learn best-practice, discover the latest clinical developments and source new products from leading global brands. CCR 2021 will be the most eagerly anticipated event in the UK medical aesthetics calendar.

Have you ever thought about lip filler? Maybe you want to add more volume, definition or to help fix asymmetry?

Become a Cosmetic Courses Aesthetic Model to receive highly discounted treatment administered by medical professionals across our award-winning UK aesthetic clinics.

Lip Filler Treatment

Lip filler is a treatment where dermal filler is injected into the lip area to add volume and definition. Lots of patients think lip filler is a one size fits all treatment and everyone will come out with large swollen looking lips. This is not the case, not with us. Each patient is treated individually and holistically, meaning we look at the whole face and create lips that compliment your features. Some of the most life changing results can be from the smallest amounts of dermal filler, if placed correctly.

What is dermal filler?

Dermal filler is made up of Hyaluronic Acid, something which we already have in our bodies. As we start to age it begins to break down and our own bodies’ supply starts to go down. Dermal filler injections reintroduce Hyaluronic Acid back into the body to help add volume and definition.

Does the treatment hurt?

Every patient has a different pain threshold, what one can find painless another can find painful. Although we do believe that lip filler treatment does not hurt as much as you may think it does! We use Juvederm for our dermal filler which already contains lidocaine, a local anesthetic, so the only discomfort will be a slight scratch when the needle enters the skin.

Discounted Lip Filler

At Cosmetic Courses we offer Lip Filler treatment as an aesthetic model for a highly discounted rate, a compromise on cost, never on quality. We train thousands of medical professionals a year in the art of lip fillers. To aid their training we ask for patients to come in as models and have the treatment for a highly reduced rate as they will be in a training setting. Our medical students are overseen and led by our expert faculty and each model patient receives the same high level of care as all of our patients.

Lip Filler Near Me

We have clinics across the UK which offers Lip Filler as an aesthetic model, every week for reduced cost.

Lip filler before and afters:

What to expect at your lip filler appointment

Your medical practitioner will discuss your medical history and expectations from the treatment. Once you are both happy they will continue their facial assessment and plan where the product will be placed for optimum results. The treatment itself will take about 30-45 minutes but this can differ depending on where you are having the dermal filler treatment. Once you have had your treatment you will be slightly red and there will also be some swelling which will subside a couple of days after treatment. True results will be seen approximately 2 weeks post-treatment.

How to book your lip filler appointment:

To book an appointment you will first need to speak to an advisor you can contact the team directly on 01844 390110 / [email protected] or you can fill out our model enquiry form here for us to contact you!

The Botulinum Toxin and Cosmetic Fillers (Children) Act 2021 - UPDATE

Back in May we published a blog highlighting The Botulinum Toxin and Cosmetic Fillers (Children) Act 2021, within this blog we detailed the process in place to make it illegal for those under the age of 18 to have such cosmetic procedures. You can read up on it here!

We are pleased to announce the act has now been passed and from October 1st 2021 it is now in action.

What does this mean for the aesthetic industry?

The Botulinum Toxin and Cosmetic Fillers (Children) Act 2021 makes it a criminal offence to make arrangements for, or administer botulinum toxin and cosmetic fillers to persons under the age of 18 years old, enforced by a local authority regulatory regime.

A person or business who commits an offence is liable on summary conviction to an unlimited fine.

Although it is important to add that some aesthetic treatments can be used for medical needs. So if arranged by a doctor due to ongoing conditions such as hyperhidrosis, migraines, jaw clenching etc, under 18s are still able to have the procedures from a limited range of registered health professionals where there is an assessed medical need.

For more information you can visit the JCCPs fact sheet here.

At Cosmetic Courses we are pleased to hear of such changes to the industry, helping to implement some regulation and stop any unneeded cosmetic procedures for under 18s. Helping to shape a better future!

So you’ve decided which treatment you want but your not quite sure which course can provide it for you. At Cosmetic Courses we run a variety of aesthetic training courses to teach our medically qualified delegates all about non-surgical treatments. This blog will be your go to guide for understanding your basic from your advanced when it comes to Botox and dermal filler treatments…

Foundation Course (Basic Botox & Filler)foundation botox and dermal filler treatments

The foundation course is the first step our delegates make. They are experts within their medical professions and now they want to turn their hand to aesthetic medicine. As this is their first course in this field we take our time training them. Ensuring they are confident and know exactly what they are doing, this means models may experience slightly longer waiting times.  The great things about our Foundation days are that they are held on weekends across our different locations.

The treatments available are: Upper Face Botox (forehead lines, frown lines and crow’s feet) & Filler around the Mouth (nasolabial folds, smokers lines, mouth corners & marionette lines)

Advanced Course (Botox & Filler)advanced botox and dermal filler treatments

This course is for our delegates who have completed previous training days, have gained some experience and now want to take their knowledge to the next step. The course covers additional practical areas and introduces new injection techniques when using Botox and filler treatments. Models may find that these courses have a slightly smaller group size and are more likely to have a combination of treatments as the delegates already have aesthetic experience. We tend to hold these courses a couple of times a month within the working week.

The treatments available are: Lower Face Botox (smoker’s lines, downturned mouth, puckered chin, gummy smile, masseter muscle and nefertiti lift) Lip Filler, Hyperhidrosis, Cheek Filler and Brow Lifts.

Becoming a Cosmetic Courses Model

Not only do you receive high quality treatments for a discount of the price. You also join a community of like minded individuals. We put training at our forefront and work hard to make sure all of our delegates are trained to the highest standard and our patients receive safe, high quality treatments.

Why becoming a model with Cosmetic Courses might be for you;

  • Receive expert advise from our trainers
  • Flexibility of dates and locations
  • Time to read, chat or catch up with emails before your appointment
  • Join our community, your treatment plan is a journey
  • Gain access to some of the latest products and techniques
  • Receive discounted prices

The Positive “No”…

It is true that in order to provide the best training and safest treatments our trainers may tell you that you are not suitable for a particular treatment or may advise you to try an alternative route.  At Cosmetic Courses, your safety comes first. An informed decision will be made, taking note of your medical history, past treatments and current condition. This decision is made with your best interest.

We encourage our models to be honest with their past procedures so we can make sure we develop the safest and most effective treatment plan.

Hearing the word “No” is never a negative at Cosmetic Courses. We try our best to accommodate everyone or refer for other treatments if we see necessary and more beneficial.

If you would like to speak to one of our consultants or to book in for our Botox and Dermal Filler treatments please call us now on 01844 390110 or register here to receive further information.

What to look for in a Platelet Rich Plasma training course

Recently at Cosmetic Courses we have seen an influx of Platelet Rich Plasma training course enquiries. As with anyPlatelet Rich Plasma Training Course with Cosmetic Courses (1) course, it’s important to do your research before booking on especially when it comes to the products the course is using. The world of PRP is vast and should not be seen as a one size fits all treatment. Multiple courses are needed to cover the different areas such as hair, face, and body along with understanding different client needs and managing expectations.

There are also many PRP machines on the marketing, all using different centrifuge methods. In this blog we are going to discuss what to look for when choosing your Platelet Rich Plasma Training Course and the machines to perform your treatments.

What qualifications do I need to do PRP?

At Cosmetic Courses we only train doctors, dentists, and nurses with valid medical registration in our aesthetic courses including Platelet Rich Plasma training. Due to the nature of the treatment, our delegates need to have existing experience in taking blood and managing complications caused by trauma to the body.

Our courses are also taught by our expert faculty with extensive knowledge within their own medical fields, applying it to their aesthetic experience to lead example in safe and ethical practices within aesthetics.

What is PRP training?

Platelet Rich Plasma training is learning the fundamentals and practical elements of this sought-after treatment. PRP involves taking the patients own blood and spinning it within a centrifuge system to separate the good plasma. It is then injected back into the skin causing a slight trauma which urges the bodies own collagen supply to come forward and aid repair, working with the good plasma.

Developed over 40 years ago and used by dental and maxillofacial surgeons for its wound healing abilities, it made the move into aesthetics helping with skin rejuvenation, scarring, pigmentation, hair loss and ageing.

Who can administer PRP treatments?

Due to insurance policies PRP treatments can be administered by medically registered professionals with sufficient training behind them.

Choosing a PRP system

The original PRP machines used a buffy coat system, the same you would see within a laboratory to process blood samples for testing. With continued research and development, it became clear that using this system could cause contamination to PRP with red blood cells.

It later became apparent that by using certain types of tube when producing the PRP could result in some of the good plasma being left behind in the tubes when administering back into the skin, another area needed to be researched and developed further.

Centrifuge speed were monitored next, were they spinning fast enough to evenly split the samples, or were we not seeing the right results from the centrifuge and did it need improving…

Questions to ask when choosing your Platelet Rich Plasma training course:

  • What machines are you going to be trained in, do they have the relevant safety data and CE mark verification?
  • By using this machine how many of the platelets from the blood are delivered?
  • Can you vary the concentration of the machine?
  • Does the machine eliminate any red cell contamination?
  • Is the machine easy to use?
  • What areas will you be covering on your course?
  • Will there be practical experience on live models?
  • What support is available after and before the courses?

Cellenis PRP Centrifuge Systems

We are pleased to partner with Cellenis PRP for our Platelet Rich Plasma training courses, not only will you be taught in their machines and process but the PRP kits are available to purchase from us after your training.

Benefits of Cellenis PRP Centrifuge:

  • Advanced gel separation technology producing optimum prp formula
  • Significant preservation of platelet functionality
  • Platelets and Monocytes rest directly above the gel barrier. They are then re-suspended back into the plasma during the Cellenis preparation process.
  • Inflammatory red blood cells remain trapped beneath the gel barrier.
  • Neutrophils, cells that are harmful to the reparative environment are sequestered beneath the gel barrier.

Why choose Cosmetic Courses for your Platelet Rich Plasma Training Course

  • The UK’s largest aesthetic training provider, led by Plastic Surgeon Mr Adrian Richards
  • Theory led by our expert trainers covering complications through to marketing
  • Courses held in fully functioning clinic environments across 6 locations

Choosing Your Lip Filler Course cosmetic courses

There are many different aspects to look out for when booking your lip filler course from trainer experience to aftercare support. In this blog we will highlight some top points to take into mind when embarking on your lip filler training courses.

1. Training Provider Reputation & Experience

You may of already realised, there are a lot of aesthetic training providers out there! It’s important to do your research and find the best match for you. One way to help you find the perfect fit would be to look at company reviews, see what past delegates have said about their training courses. Check their company social media channels including the trainers mentioned, having a scroll through their socials can show you if they are busy and what their training looks like. Delve in deeper to find out more about who runs the training courses, what is their background and ethos. Looking at accreditations and awards for the company, who are they partnered with and what companies refer them. Also check where they are training you, is it in a clinic setting and what products do they use.

2. Trainers Experience

It’s important to find out who is going to be taking your course and what their experience is. At Cosmetic Courses we use a handpicked team of medical professionals all chosen by our Medical Director Mr Adrian Richards. Each of our trainers have a vast amount of experience in aesthetics from running their own successful clinics to being key opinion leaders in the industry. You may what to have your lip filler course taught by a medical professional that has a similar background to you or you may want to learn from a trainer who has a different medical field behind them. When you make contact with the training provider take the time to ask about the trainers and which one would suit you the most.

3. Course Layout

To give you a better insight on the day you should check with your training provider on what to expect on the day. What is covered in the theory, will you be looking at complications along with business and marketing advice? Also checking how much practical you will be receiving, will there be enough models to delegates and what techniques will you be covering on the day.

4. Live Models Provided

At Cosmetic Courses we believe the only way to really understand a treatment is by hands-on learning. We provide live models for each of our courses for delegates to practice what they have learnt under the close supervision and guidance of our expert trainers. By using live models you are experiencing a real patient and practitioner journey, understanding the patients needs and applying your knowledge and skills gained to achieve optimum, holistic results.

5. Aftercare and Support
