In this short video we see Consultant plastic Surgeon and Medical Director of Cosmetic Courses Adrian Richards answer the FAQ; “How do you decide which treatment is right for your patient?”
First time patients can hold a bit of confusion when it comes to the treatment they want. This can be created from a variety of sources, incorrect information in the media or general lack of understanding of each injectable and it’s qualities.
It is our role as the practitioner to guide our patients through this. Spend time talking to the patient on their consultation, understand the problem area and assess it. It’s also important to be honest with your patient, not too “salesy”, nobody wants a practitioner who over promises and under-delivers!
In our courses we teach you the correct treatment plans and problem areas which patients will come to you for help with. From your learning you will be able to decide the correct treatment for the patient in order to help them gain the result they are after.
The consultation is a very important part of the patient and practitioner journey. This is where you will form your relationship and the patient puts trust in you. Spend time talking to your patients and get to know them, understand why they’re coming for the treatment. What made them come for the treatment and what are they hoping from the treatment. It’s important you build a rapport with them in order to achieve repeat business and happy patients!
