In this Video FAQ we answer “how do you treat a male forehead with Botox?” with Adrian Richards, Clinical Director of Cosmetic Courses…
Hopefully it won’t come as a surprise to you that men are different than women when it comes to the body.
Men have bigger muscles and generally they’re taller. The focus areas for the male forehead is the procerus, the corrugator, the frontalis and the obicularis oculi. These are also the areas that are treated with Botulinum Toxin. As they are larger in men you will need more botulinum toxin to treat. We recommend 30-40% more botulinum toxin in each area compared to a woman. This is just a guide as all bodies are made differently. It all depends on how much muscle they have in terms of how much Botox is administered.
For instance you could meet a female with a large muscle mass meaning she would need more than the average dose of Botox for her treatment to see results.
It all depends on the patient, each patient should be treated differently and it’s important you focus on what works for them personally. It is your job as the practitioner to ensure that you are giving the right doses to your patients. Not only is this safety of practice but will also ensure great results from treatment.
